I had set the alarm for 9.45 this morn as I had to get up and make it over to the orientation for 11 and I wasn't sure where to go. Left the hostel and followed the map. Pretty straight forward but it was still quite a walk, especially with my ruck sack. I made it over to the Swap offices and was told to wait with the rest of the “swappers” till they were ready. I recognized a couple who were on my flight the night before so I went over to chat to them. Gillian and John from Limerick. Both very nice. We were brought to a bank then to have our orientation. This was quite helpful and they gave us a pack with maps n'stuff. When that was over they recommended we opened a bank account so I went and did that straight away. The guy who signed me up was a Chinese guy about 50. He was hilarious and really nice guy. Told me his life story. Afterwards I wanted to get a Canadian number so I had a contact number for my resumé. After a few problems getting it sorted I was all set. It was late enough at this stage and I still had nowhere to stay so I went to the Global Village Backpackers which was close to the Swap offices. I booked myself in for 5 nights. Its an even cooler place then the last hostel I was in. Apparently its quite the party place, not really what I had intended, but when in Rome... That evening I met 3 more Irish folk I had seen at the orientation earlier. Paul from Kilkenny (21). Melissa from Sligo and Martin from Dublin. All seem really nice again and all were staying in the same hostel except for Melissa. That night was a real party night in the hostel so we had great craic. Went to bed around 2 so was shattered again. My hostel room
